food

In King’s Cross, Hi Old Friend Chinese Restaurant is a new dining establishment serving up a range of authentic Sichuan and Chinese specialities.

Situated right across from Ocean Oriental Supermarket, this restaurant offers up exotic dishes like chilli pigs’ feet, tongue and pork intestine, as well as more common favourites like sweet and sour chicken and pork.

Most of the food on offer is cooked in a Sichuan style, so you can expect your order to pack an extra punch.

Some of Hi Old Friend’s most popular dishes include the Sichuan-style wonton in red chilli oil, the crispy pork in chilli oil, and any of the dishes made using stir-fried lamb.

Despite its rather recent opening, this Chinese restaurant on Caledonian Road has already earned an impressive following, meaning that booking a table in advance is a wise choice.

Named after Addis Ababa’s bustling main trading area, this unpretentious restaurant tries to remain loyal to its Ethiopian roots.

The simple red and white interior is suffused with the aroma of incense, the walls hung with Amharic tapestries and Ethiopian portraits.
