The London Foodie: London Restaurant Reviews - Mason & Taylor ...

Review analysis

**THIS RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED DOWN** A craft beer and real ale bar, Mason Taylor is the Shoreditch destination for those who, like me: 1.

There are 12 draught beers and ales on tap at all times, and a list of about 40 bottled beers including craft North American, British and Belgian beers that changes regularly.

Food at Mason Taylor is served tapas style rather than as traditional starters and main dishes, the exceptions to this being the weekend brunch, and the Sunday all day menu which includes several roast dinner options.

Of the 10 dishes we tried, we each had our favourites, but we both agreed that they were all good and perfect with the beers we chose.

Verdict: great Shoreditch destination for craft beer and British food fans, I enjoyed all the small plates on offer and the selection of reasonably priced beers.

Rodizio Rico - Halal Girl About Town

Review analysis

Rodizio is a Brazillian barbecue restaurant serving all sorts of cuts of meat such as beef ribs, chicken legs, etc.

The majority of the meats served are halal with the exception of the pork dishes and two cuts of beef.

Even though some of the cuts of beef are not halal, there are plenty of meats to try – some we didn’t even try – and if you point out that you follow a halal diet, they will bring you the appropriate skewers.

The restaurant assured us that the pork products were cooked separately from the rest of the meat as well so there is no chance of cross contamination occurring.

However, with Rodizio Rico, there were only a handful of meats that were enjoyable such as the ox tail, rump steak and the chicken sausage; the rest were lacking on flavour or were a little too chewy for my liking.
