Met Bar - Luxury Mayfair Hotel | COMO Metropolitan London

Since it first opened in 1997, the Met Bar is among the best bars in Central London.

The Met Bar welcomes guests with an expanded and innovative cocktail menu and fresh lunch and dinner menus featuring seasonal British classic cuisine.

Tables are back-painted glass with golden highlights reflecting the natural light that floods through the glass wall.

The evening brings a change of mood with the glass magically becoming etched, obscuring the vision from outside in.

I’ve stayed at four different hotels that all have good views of this glorious park.

While enjoying such a magical environment, I decided I wanted to enjoy it even more and sample the Metropolitan hotel room service.

Without a doubt, I must insist you try the room service at the Metropolitan during your next stay.

I can’t forget to mention again how amazing the room service burger was, along with the view, it was heaven!

When push came to shove, and you’re looking for a fantastic hotel with the best view of Hyde Park, you must stay at the Metropolitan by COMO hotels!

The COMO Metropolitan London in Park Lane is the perfect place to experience a good dose of both the hedonistic and healthy sides to life and Mr S and I headed there for a staycation one weekend.

My favourite part of the room was the gorgeous balcony which had a view out on to Hyde Park and the other famous luxury hotels in Old Park Lane.

COMO Metropolitan London is also home to one of my favourite restaurants; Nobu Old Park Lane and the night of hedonism continued with cocktails at the Nobu bar before taking our table for dinner.

After exploring and a few final hours enjoying our gorgeous room with a view we headed to the Met Bar where you can enjoy British bar food or the healthy COMO Shambhala cuisine for lunch.

Mr S and I really enjoyed our mini-staycation at COMO Metropolitan London and if you’re looking to retox and detox in style I can’t think of a better place.

Otherwise, go for the 'Met Experience', which allows you to recreate the cocktails from the Met Bar cocktail menu.

Como Metropolitan London hotel - Mayfair, London - England ...

On this occasion, there was the added anticipation of a weekend break; I could sense the working week drawing to a close, and our excitement and anticipation levels rose as we sped towards the Como Metropolitan London hotel on Park Lane.

But, the sightseeing didn’t end there: the Como prides itself on having Hyde Park on its doorstep; and so it should, this location is prime London.

As I said, I'm not a natural… Truth be told, neither myself nor Mr Smith (he speaks tech as his second language) could manage to crack the ‘atmospheric lighting’ during our stay; it was either on – bright and bold – or dimly lit by our two tiny, glowing bedside lights.

Without a doubt, Saturday night’s dinner at Nobu, which is housed on the second floor of the Como Metropolitan, was the highlight of the weekend.

Thanks to Como’s prestigious location, we felt we had done everything we had hoped to during our weekend in London.

This bar at the Metropolitan London hotel was one of the most exclusive party spots of the late 90s.

It's now open to all, so you don't have to be a member to make it inside to see the new lick of paint, the expanded cocktail list and a food menu serving seasonal British cuisine.

The cocktail list ranges from mojitos, martinis and a Metropolitan spritz to a Bel Ami, a Shadow Punch and a Met Michelada - the bar's own take on the Mexican classic.

Light bites are available in the evening, with sliders, chicken yakitori skewers and mini vegetable empanadas alongside soy sauce glass noddles and blackened salmon tataki.

Afternoon tea is available, too.
