Our Food - Pho Vietnamese Restaurants - Fresh, Healthy Food

Bun noodles are a fantastically light and healthy way to enjoy noodles; an attack on the senses with contrasting textures, temperatures, colours and flavours.

Every bowl contains soft, room-temperature vermicelli rice noodles, an abundance of fresh herbs, crunchy carrot and mooli pickle, crisp lettuce and a hot topping of your choice, stir-fried in lemongrass and a little chilli.

The dish is garnished with roasted peanuts and fried shallots and we also throw in a veggie spring roll.

We recommend you mix up the ingredients in the bowl and pour over the nuoc cham sauce to really get the most from this dish.

It was a busy Friday night so we had to wait for a table (no reservations), we ordered a couple of Sôn Tinh rice liquors at the bar – Chanh Leo (passion fruit) for me and Man Do (plum) for Jess £4.25 50cl, and mulled over the menu.

What makes them special is that Pho have become the first place in the UK to serve these rice wines and fruit liquors.

Next was a bowl of warming, aromatic Pho Tai Chin – steak and brisket £7.95, with herbs on the side to mix my own flavours.

Jess ordered a cold dish from the Bun section (Vermicelli rice noodles with stir fried toppings, fresh herbs, veggie spring roll and peanuts) Her dish was wrong, she ordered the Bun Cha Gio Nem Nuong pork and lemongrass meatballs but instead got Bun Cha Gio Bo Xao Sa – lemongrass and beef £8.45 instead.

If I went back I’d like to try the Vietnamese curry (Cari) as I’ve never had a Vietnamese curry before, in fact there are still a lot of dishes I’ve not tried…  Overall we both really enjoyed Pho, despite the wrong order, fire exit table and the bowl of waste.

For the main my friend had Pho Xao Chicken with no nuts.

This wasn’t the healthiest choice on the menu with 445 calories but was still acceptable as an option for my friends diet ‘celebration night’ allowance.

It was also much healthier than many other takeaway options if you take for example a single large slice of a Dominos Meat Feast Pizza, with a classic crust, containing almost half this amount of calories.

Though I was keen to support my friend’s diet, I wasn’t on one myself and had the Ca-ri chicken with no nuts.

The coconut milk based curry is packed full of potato, carrot, peppers and mushrooms.

Fresh, flavoursome, spicy and healthy are usually the words that come to mind when describing food from the Far East.

A particular restaurant that lives up to this tag is the Vietnamese restaurantVietnamese Street Food.Dotted around England ( with seven eateries in total) Pho has provided an alternative option to those wishing to tantalise their taste buds with heat.

Only best brought out through Asian cooking.is well known for not only being London's first ever street food restaurant, but also offering a distinctive Pho soup (comprised of over 13 different fillings that you can choose from) which is the national dish of Vietnam.

Surprisingly filling, the traditional dish lives up to its ancient roots, providing the diner with a legitimate Asian dish, for a reasonable price tag.Don't just take a grinding halt at the signature dish, but proceed to the other tantalising items on offer, such as theand the, called.

Unfortunatelydo not take reservations, a common occurrence at many London restaurants I have noticed. If you want to experiencewith a little more ease, I suggest you head to Westfield Stratford where you will find the Vietnamese kiosk in the overflowing food court.Fresh and flavoursome, brings that little bit of Asian edge to your life.
