This restaurant has set out to celebrate the vibrant and diverse cooking of old Brazil.
These dishes are truly sublime, like the Abrobrinha Recheada – courgette, stuffed with artichoke, mushrooms and Brazil nuts, and roasted to juicy perfection.

On behalf of Sounds and Colours, I went on a mission to discover Latin American food in London, and the search had me visit restaurants of Argentinian, Brazilian, Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian food, as well as a couple that mixed and matched flavours of different South American cuisines.
In this article you’ll find all restaurants I’ve visited and that’s because the quality of food was amazing in every single one, but I will also be giving you my favourite for each of the cuisines.
Normally taking my steak medium-well, I took a chance here to try the recommended medium-rare and was happily surprised by the softness and flavour contained in both steaks – Juan informed me all steaks prepared in the restaurant are vacuum-packed straight after the cut in Argentina, and shipped to London.
The influence comes from large Hispanic communities in the USA and Mexico itself; Eric and Dan created Chilango because they found hard to find good Mexican food in London, and in my opinion they did a wonderful job to make their creation available throughout London now that there are 12 London branches – and one in Manchester!

A boteco is traditionally a laid-back bar and meeting place in Brazil.
Camden’s Made in Brasil Boteco does just that.
Visitors enjoy a well-crafted list of cocktails, live music and DJs, and a light menu that showcases flavours from Brazil.
The happy hour is a particular favourite for Camden bar-hoppers.

The Boteco has launched as a sister venue offering less formal surroundings and an exciting menu of petiscos, or Brazillian tapas.
The cocktail menu is vast (and they run a great happy hour), and specialises in the Brazilian classic – the caipirinha.
As I sipped a passion fruit caipirinha, I was transported back to my days lazing on Copacabana Beach in Rio, where I indulged in several of the cachaca-based cocktails.
Back at Made in Brasil Boteco, the dishes I ordered were generous, and made great snacks to go with our drinks.
Also ordered – a seafood misto frito which came with a lime & passion fruit chilli dip, two rather enormous beef croquets, a parmegiana (similar to the Italian dish), Brazilian sausages, and a salad topped with halloumi and grilled pineapple.
