Imogen Thomas and Chloe Jasmine stun at opening of Japanese ...

And Chloe Jasmine wasted no time in jumping to the challenge as she hopped onto the back of the attention grabbing automobile parked on Chelsea Green.

Meanwhile, pretty pal Imogen Thomas wasn't far behind, flashing her legs as she arrived in the back of a cab to join the singer at the opening of Japanese restaurant Kiru on Thursday.

The girls sat together as they dined, but Imogen managed to resist the lure of the eye-catching Lamborghini, grabbing attention by showing off her shapely legs in a sleeveless black dress and cute black heels instead.

Other stars out to enjoy the culinary delights were Made In Chelsea's Ollie Locke dressed all in black and looking tanned and cheerful.

Actress Jeanne channeled her French chic keeping it simple and black from head to toe.

restaurant review: bottomless brunch at kiru, chelsea

Review analysis
food   drinks   menu

Every Sunday from 1pm till 6pm, a three-course menu is served up alongside your bottomless tipple of choice (sake, Prosecco, white wine or soft drinks), as well as a selection of soft drinks.

Proceedings commence with the cold starters: teeny, delicate little tacos topped with avocado and raw tuna; salmon tataki and an absolutely delectable white fish truffle ponzu (I went back for seconds and thirds of this); and freshly prepared sushi in several guises (salmon cucumber roll, spicy tuna avocado roll, cucumber roll and a nigiri special of the day).

Choose from miso soup, edamame, Japanese-infused pork steamed buns and a KIRU green leaf salad with shisho dressing.

Also, I’d ordered the 12 hour slow-cooked KIRU-style pork belly with balsamic miso glaze and apple salsa as my choice of main course, so I knew I needed to save a little room.

Other main course choices include shrimp and vegetable tempura, salmon teriyaki, corn-fed chicken teriyaki (which my friend ordered and thoroughly enjoyed – apart from the ‘end bits’, because she’s a fuss pot), and grilled asparagus with shiro goma dressing (which, I believe, is a white sesame seed dressing).

Restaurant Review: Elystan Street, Chelsea

value   staff   menu   food

The Resident takes a trip to Chelsea to dine at Phil Howard’s new restaurant Elystan Street.

Certainly, Howard is one of the major London chefs, and any restaurant that he’s involved in is a big, big deal.

It is far from cheap – starters hover around the £20 mark, mains often exceed £30 – but one would expect the cooking to be of such a superlative standard that a three-course meal without wine for two coming in at £150 including service is worth it.

Our main courses are even better; pluma and cheek of pata negra pork makes one realise just how wonderful this dish can be with the right chef in charge, and aged fillet and short rib of beef comes complete with bone marrow, wild mushroom and numerous other little touches that make this a delight.

Cost Dinner for two around £200 Good for… A great chef letting his hair down in deliciously satisfying fashion What to eat… Anything you try will be good, though we were intrigued by the presence of a chicken Caesar salad on the lunch menu What to know… The restaurant was, for a long time, operated by Tom Aikens as his Michelin-starred flagship

Restaurant review Sakagura in Mayfair

Review analysis
food   staff   drinks   menu

The Resident takes a trip to Mayfair to dine at the infamous Sakagura and learn all about the ways of ‘washoku dining’ The Shoryu group (‘chain’ would not be an apt description) have done a superb job ever since they arrived in London half a decade ago.

Introducing countless locals and visitors alike to ramen, they have used top-notch ingredients, welcoming environments and deceptively sophisticated service to ensure that an industry once dominated by Wagamama has managed to have competitors functioning at the highest level.

If you’ve been to a Shoryu, you’ll know a lot of the ingredients already.

The cocktails that begin the meal use sake as their main ingredient, which is a relief; lighter and more versatile than heavier spirits.

It is the main courses where matters really come into their own, and wagyu beef and lobster, both cooked on the robata grill, manage to bring something fresh to luxury ingredients that have become well-worn through their ubiquitous presence on menus round Mayfair.

The House at Beaverbrook: Is this Britain's coolest new country ...

Expectations are high for Surrey's hottest hotel opening of the summer.

Understandable given that £90m has been pumped into a colossal project to transform what was once the country estate of media mogul Lord Beaverbrook.

But is the slick new 18-bedroom House at Beaverbrook set to become the coolest country house hotel in the county – or potentially even Britain?

Add into the mix a cutting-edge Japanese restaurant, Art Deco cinema and Roaring Twenties bar, and we just might have one of one of the glammest hotel openings of the year on our hands.
