Intriguingly, they were never in the restaurant trade, though I imagine the love for food courses through their veins.

Ida lays claim to be one of the few restaurants in London – and even Italy – which makes pasta in-house by the dying art of hand-rolling, as opposed to machined ways.

Grilled bread (also made in-house) is not for show of course, as it was the perfect compliment to the heavy sauce, soaking up all those wonderful flavours in the dough… oh, more bread please.

And finally, my main course, Tender pork fillet with marsala wine on a bed of steamed green beans.

For a short moment, I glimpsed a corner Italian restaurant in Middle Europe, and not Kensal Green, clientele seemed white collar, and having just knocked off work to enjoy a comforting meal.

Giacomos Italian Restaurant - 428 Finchley Road, London, NW2 ...

When looking out for a great place to dine, this little gem of a restaurant is just a stones throw between Golders Green, Hampstead and Childs Hill.

Giacomo's is not a loud or sterile Italian restaurant.

Warm greetings and great service by the absolutely charming staff continues the theme throughout and judging by the filled tables even on an early Sunday evening, this restaurant certainly has its fair share of loyal diners.

This is not like any other Italian restaurant.

I could continue to write this review into a lengthy piece but instead I will finish my writings with the conclusion that in today's fast paced life, if you want to go to an Italian restaurant whre you can feel comfortable, at peace and enjoy great homely food at a reasonable price (this is London) then I highly recommend you trying Giacomos.
