The City Pride, Isle of Dogs

Review analysis
staff   drinks

Having been a regular customer for some 15 years the latest drunken bar man episode is enough.

That is fine but for a young member of staff to be totally out of their tree and trying to get you pay for someone elses drink (which is another story) and then been abusive is another thing and then for the little manager to slam your money down and walk of cursing in french is just about it.

One would have thought after the drug fuelled sex den incident earlier this year Glendola Leisure would have installed a stable conservative manager.

Such a shame that a local pub that has been enjoyed over the years has gone this way and no longer appears to care about its customers.

I do know one thing that is not right and that is when one misses the last orders bell because one is assisting the staff to calm down and quietly remove an irate customer (any of the above) and the manager then refuses to serve you that last order because you missed the bell!

City Pride in Farringdon, London Pub Review and Details

A very pleasant Fuller's pub in the heart of Clerkenwell.

It serves a good pint (Pride, Adnam's, ESB), decent honest pub food and the clientele are usually a jolly crowd.

It also has the added advantage of being able to open up most of the front of the pub, which is nice in hot weather.

In addition to the usual range of Fuller's fine beers, it also serves decent guest beers too.

If you're in these parts looking for a proper pub, you won't go wrong coming here.

Here is a look at the one most likely: a 715ft tower, of 59 storeys containing 500 flats, which the Canary Wharf Group plans to build at the western end of its estate.

Answer: Canary Wharf flats will be 11 feet floor-to-floor, sacrificing eight floors for higher ceilings.

The City Pride drawings show  the tower will be built using the more normal floor to floor measurement of nine feet  eight inches.

About 80, according to reports suggesting Berkeley Group is to build Britain’s tallest residential tower at South Quay, over the water from Canary Wharf and just a two-minute stroll from the City Pride.

“The tower will be lower than One Canada Square, which will remain the tallest building in Canary Wharf.”
