Little Duck - The Picklery

Little Duck - The Picklery

Little Duck | The Picklery

The Picklery is a fermenting kitchen and eatery - it's here that we make our seasonal ferments, pickles and home-made fermented drinks.

The kitchen is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dinner is from 6pm with a simple sharing menu and the addition of a slow-cooked something or other which comes out of the oven at 7pm.

Our KITCHEN CRAFT workshops run monthly, often hosted by an invited guest.

We run a series of Kitchen Crafts workshops every month.

Little Duck The Picklery review – the height of summer in the depths ...

The charms of those grown-up flavours hasn’t been lost on the kitchen at Little Duck The Picklery though, the third restaurant from the people behind Duck Soup and Rawduck.

Even if its ever-changing menu didn’t have this emphasis on fermented and pickled ingredients, Little Duck The Picklery would still have an identity distinct from its older siblings thanks to it interior, brimming with charm and warmth.

The thick, dense, smooth and slippery slices of ‘meat’ radish had a light tanginess with sweet and woody tinges to it.

Tripe with pancetta and chickpeas seems like the very antithesis of the more wellness-friendly (*shudder*) artichokes and cheese, but both feel perfectly at home in The Little Duck Picklery’s Mediterraneanish oeuvre.

It’s worth taking your chances with a slice of Little Duck The Picklery’s ever-changing seasonal pie.

They took the idea, brined it, let it ferment, and finally unveiled it: a picklery.

The third joint from the people behind Duck Soup in Soho, and Rawduck in Hackney, this new Dalston-based venture focuses on the art of brining.

They make all their pickles, ferments, and drinking vinegars on site, where they’re both available to buy (by the gram or the jar), and incorporated into the brand new menu.

When you’re not busy self-improving, you’ll have a chance to take in their brand new menu.

NOTE: Little Duck – The Picklery is open from 9am-late (except Mondays, open for dinner only from 6pm).

In a nutshell: It's all about pickling and fermenting Summing it all up: This latest opening from the folk behind Rawduck and Ducksoup will be an all day diner, wine bar AND neighbourhood store Fans of Ducksoup and Rawduck will soon have a third restaurant to add to the list as Littleduck Picklery prepares to open in Dalston.

Tom Hill, Clare Lattin and Rory McCoy of Ducksoup and Rawduck are opening this fermenting and pickling production kitchen and neighbourhood store that will also be an all-day diner and wine bar.

As the name suggests, the shop will operate as a fermentation kitchen so you'll be able to buy their own range of fermented foods and drinks - expect seasonal krauts, kimchis, kombuchas, kefirs and drinking vinegars.

For breakfast and lunch we're told to expect something similar to Rawduck in style - so maybe a Gilchester Breakfast bap of bacon, fried eggs, fermented greens & chilli.

But in the evening the menu will focus on small plates of seasonal Italian inspired dishes like pickled tomatoes & dill or fermented nettles.
