If you’re looking for a well-connected, picturesque corner of South West London, moving house in Earlsfield could be the ideal choice.

Earlsfield, tucked away in Wandsworth, is just three stops (less than 15 minutes) by rail to Waterloo, so it’s easy to get to central London for work or play.

Top restaurants in Earlsfield include The Jolly Gardeners (Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker’s eatery) on Garratt Lane, Italian favourite Il Girasole, Marina Fish and the great value Green Curry Thai Café.

If you aren’t sure where to head on your first day in Earlsfield, a safe bet is Garratt Lane where most of the area’s best venues are found.

Earlsfield is no different to any other London area in that parking can be tricky unless you know where to go, and traffic is chaos at rush hour.

Hailing from Terni in Umbria, Il Girasole’s proprietor Alessandro has worked his way through the ranks of Italian hospitality, making the leap from manager at London’s Osteria Antica Bologna to his current position as the proud owner of his own trattoria and pizzeria.

The restaurant’s premises, too, close to the action along Earlsfield’s Garratt Lane, reflect the down-home tone of his rustic Umbrian-inflected offering, with Italian furniture and artwork commissioned from a local Wandsworth artist.

Umbrian (and even more specifically Norcian) dishes, dot the menu at Il Girasole.

Black truffle and Umbrian sausage even makes it onto this south London restaurant’s pizza menu, in the form of the house special Norcia.

Earlsfield’s premier Italian trattoria, Il Girasole’s Garratt Lane premises are often buzzing, so book early and take your place at this very Umbrian table.
