Oscar & Rosie's

We are independent creators of exceptional pizzas.

We've been making Nottingham's favourite pizza for over 2 years in various pop up locations but are now ensconced in our very own restaurant on Thurland Street.

Rosie's Vineyard – Southsea Bistro and Winebar

Rosie’s hosted our wedding on Friday and I just cannot thank them enough.

Everything was perfect, we have had so many comments about the food, which was just amazing.

We asked for something not on the wedding menu, Trifle and it was fantastic – Trifle sounds a bit of a strange choice but is the Grooms favourite and he said it was the best he’d ever tasted (much to his Mums disappointment!)

The organisers did everything we asked for, we had such an amazing day thank you all very very much x

Rosie’s is a traditional tea room in the heart of the historic riverside town of Abingdon-on-Thames.

As well as offering a wide range of teas, Rosie’s Tea Room also serves a variety of cakes, scones, sandwiches and soup (all of which are made on the premises).

In recent years Abingdon has seen the opening of a number of coffee shops and cafes, but Rosie’s Tea Room offers a more traditionally English alternative, with homemade cakes and scones a specialty (the Abingdon Chamber of Commerce Twitter page declaring – “The choc cake is really yummy!”)

The relaxing atmosphere also appeals to those looking for a full lunch or just a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Rosie’s Tea Room is situated near the centre of the historic market town of Abingdon and is just a short stroll from St Helens Church and the river Thames.

As Lee himself puts it: "Never to be forgotten, that first long secret drink of golden fire, juice of those valleys and of that time, wine of wild orchards, of russet summer, of plump red apples, and Rosie's burning cheeks.

The whole place reeks of nostalgia, country bumpkinery – and cider with Rosie.

The fast dishes include a tempura duck liver, perfectly done, with red-wine lentils, bacon jam, peppercorn and lovage, for £8.

Three dishes that I can't fault, however: the Nutbourne lamb with onion squash (which is sweet and moreish), sunflower seeds, honey and mint (£12); and, from the slow menu, a veal hotpot with malt, shallot and garlic; and stout-smoked mackerel with ironbark pumpkin, cranberries and black cabbage (both amazing value at £8).

To give mackerel, which can be slippery at the best of times, the tough, malty flavour of stout, and to throw plump, juicy cranberries against crunchy, sweet cabbage, is an inspired idea.
