The Kolossi Grill

The Kolossi Grill

Kolossi Grill

The Kolossi Grill Restaurant began life in 1966.

At the time it was the only restaurant on Rosebery Avenue and attracted the custom of journalists from nearby Fleet Street.

The name Kolossi is taken from the region and famous castle situated in Cyprus a few kilometres from the shores of Limassol.

It was made famous by Richard I of England, also known Lion Heart as he was the brave soldier who conquered the island.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Kolossi Grill Restaurant.

search for the Day of the Dead mural at the Boogaloo pub at the end of one (non Islington) section of the Parkland Walk foot and cycle path (which is lovely in the summer – enjoy cow parsley, tree ID, the scent of elderflower and honeysuckle).

GROUP B – SPAIN, HOLLAND, CHILE, AUSTRALIA Spain – we’re spoilt in Islington for tapas and Spanish tastes thanks to the very good value El Molino on Holloway Road, and the smaller branch on Hornsey Road (close to Holloway tube) which is rumoured to have hot chocolate and coffee so good you’ll want a second.

Sunday 7 September is the Angel Canal Festival, see more here – you’ve got to go to Holloway and find the El Commandante pub, 10 Annette Road, N7 for the best South American atmosphere.

GROUP C – COLOMBIA, GREECE, IVORY COAST, JAPAN Colombia – you’ve got to go to Holloway and find the El Commandante pub, 10 Annette Road, N7 for the best South American atmosphere.

food

After placing our food order and ordering drinks we waited ... and waited.

Eventually our first course arrived, with my wife's order being completely wrong.

Her plate was taken away without apology, and again we waited ....I had almost finished my food before hers arrived, and STILL no drinks, which we had to ask for again.

Our dessert order was brought by a pleasant and smartly dressed young lady, who had the grace to apologise for the totally liquid "ice cream" which formed part of the dessert.

The one saving grace was that the food was acceptable, althoug nothing to rave about.
