One of west London's finest craft beer houses; The Union Tavern blends the best of London's craft beers with fresh food and a great atmosphere.

It has built its reputation around an ability to supply some of the best beers brewed in London.

The interior is clean and fresh, but it's the outside which really attracts attention; with a great beer garden coupled with canal-side seating which really makes The Union Tavern come into its own in the summer months, where alfresco drinking is a must.

And what with great events happening such as Ale Trail Monday where real ale is £3 all day,and £5 burgers and Quiz night on a Wednesday, there's something for everyone at the Union Tavern as the sun comes calling and the drinks start flowing.

Sitting pretty between Maida Vale, Notting Hill and Kilburn - and just a hop and a skip from Westbourne Park Station - The Union Tavern bills itself as the premier craft beer haven in West London, fronting hearty fare, a relaxed vibe and an enviable location overlooking the Grand Union Canal.

The pub itself looks relatively modern from the exterior, and also benefits from a unique beer garden in its canal-side decking area, right on the water.

With a unique location plonked between a few areas, the pub could easily attract a stuffier clientèle; but most likely down to their relaxed approach to hosting, the ambience was chilled and the customers varied in their demographic.

'The only craft beer hangout in the area', there are a wide range of ales from local breweries around London, which are chosen in-house and alternated regularly.

Perhaps it was the last rays of the sun, perhaps it was the massive plate of food I ate, or perhaps it was the four pints of Camden Pale Ale; but the whole experience at The Union Tavern was as perfectly comfortable as it should be.

A wonderful example of Victorian architecture, The Union Tavern is a Victorian pub dating back over 200 years.

From platters and grill dishes to weekend brunches and traditional Sunday roasts, The Union Tavern is a warm and welcoming spot just off Kings Cross Road - a short walk from Kings Cross and Farringdon stations.

Tuck into chargrilled steaks with French fries, sample the Roasted Sausages locally sourced from Biggles of Marylebone, or try the Homemade Union Beef Burger with hand cut chips.

Naturally, The Union Tavern also offers a wide range of draught and bottled beers, ales and cider to accompany your meal, in addition to an extensive wine list.
