Coppa Club

In the heart of the West End, Coppa Club is set in a quiet, pedestrianised square just behind Oxford Street.

Coppa Club | Oxford Circus, London

Coppa Club is a place for eating, drinking, meeting and unwinding.

A brass bar and open-plan kitchen lined with stools run along the length of Coppa Club’s ground floor restaurant.

Downstairs has more of a lounge vibe, with club chairs, low tables and a cocktail bar.

There's a wide selection of weekend brunch dishes and the bar serves carefully-chosen wines, beers and classic cocktails as well as new creations.

Built around a central, brass bar that’s open on all-sides, Coppa Club has a raised lounge for working and winding down, a 250-cover restaurant with a marble herringbone floor, and a café with booths and a fireplace.

Outside, there’s a large, south-facing terrace that catches the sun all day.

We are open from early morning until late at night, seven days a week.

Drop in for breakfast and stay for dinner.

Beautifully refurbished Coppa Club restaurant sits beside the River Thames in the charming Berkshire village of Sonning.

Just as good as the sea bass is a plate of pink English lamb chops that cut with incredible ease.

The main dining room is light and airy, benefiting from large windows that frame a beautiful view of the River Thames.

For a more intimate experience, there are a number of dining booths and a smaller rustic dining space complete with wood beams.

Those chorizo sausages (aka nuggets of joy), the lamb chops and yet more parmesan potatoes on the side.

A London summer can be glorious when the weather is right – you know that perfect sweet spot at around 25 degrees when it’s not too hot that it’s unbearable or so cold that it doesn’t even feel like summer.

A warm (ish) day called for summery dishes and we started by sharing some starters:  Juicy seared prawns with a punchy flavour of garlic and chilli and a light drizzle of olive oil on a crisp piece of toast.

For main course there’s the choice of fairly simple grills, salads, pizza and pasta so I chose one of my absolute favourites: A whole roasted sea bream stuffed with grilled courgettes; the fish itself was a tiny bit overcooked but the flavours were still deliciously fresh and the skin was crispy.

I sampled some of the perfectly cooked fish and would definitely recommend it as another light choice for a muggy day.

The food at Coppa Club is uncomplicated but tasty and it’s the perfect place for a catch up…whatever the weather.
