The Phoenix in Fitzrovia, London Pub Review and Details

Mismatched furniture, candles, a good selection of beer and well made food are all present and correct in this unbranded chain pub run by M&B.

Ultimately, the Phoenix isn't a bad place if you're not looking for an atmospheric old pub and you fancy a loud and lively Friday night and, with its prix fixe menu, its also pretty useful midweek as a refuelling/meeting place very close to Oxford Circus.

The Phoenix

‘Blending the hip and the wholesome – a vibrant British pub offering the warmest of welcomes’ Combining the best in British pub hospitality with individuality, character and quirky charm, The Phoenix is housed in a beautifully restored railway station building at the heart of Denmark Hill.

Standing proud and ornate opposite King’s College Hospital, The Phoenix is the perfect setting for a laid-back yet distinctly memorable drinking and dining experience.

Whether you’re looking for a lazy lunch, post work get-together or social eats and treats with friends, The Phoenix offers tempting and flavoursome food, a diverse and explorative drinks menu and an authentic, homely atmosphere to suit all occasions.

Retaining the former station’s period features including arched windows, exposed brick, vintage clock and a soaring vaulted ceiling, The Phoenix really has risen from the ashes of the 1980s Denmark Hill station fire to become a truly intriguing venue that oozes charisma and appeal.
