The likely winner of London's most Instagrammed breakfast , The Breakfast Club has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and now has numerous branches across the capital, each of which boasts a long queue out the door most weekends.

This Hackney branch is found within new neighbourhoodHere East, on the site of the former Media Centre for the London Olympics 2012, and will be neighbours with other new eateries such as Randy's Wings Bar and Gotto.

Portion sizes do seem to have become a little smaller in recent times at The Breakfast Club and they're certainly not as generous with the maple syrup as they once were but, with breakfast served all day and a fun décor that will make anyone smile, it's still one of London's top spots to enjoy pancakes, eggs and bacon.

Discover a real hidden gem of an area featuring a variety of bars and restaurants on the canal, including the brilliant Shanes on Canalside.

The restaurant decor is all natural woods and cold metals, whilst the abundant greenery reflects Shane’s ethos for wild and foraged ingredients, giving the place a real earthy look.

5) Seasonal and with an emphasis on wild, natural produce (many of which has been sourced locally), the menu isn’t fussy, but it is perfectly concise.

The ham hock croquettes and the asparagus with wild garlic flowers, sorrel, roast squash, samphire and confit fennel are an ideal way to start off a meal.

9) This area is still quite new and finding its feet, but Shanes on Canalside should help get the word out.

The Breakfast Club are a family caf business doing a mean old all day food and drink offering.

This Hackney Wick branch has the same buzz, despite the slightly off-the-beaten-track location.

There’s nothing revolutionary about the menu of affordable breakfast staples, served throughout the day.

Basically, whatever combo of eggs, bacon, beans and avocado you’re after, you’ll find it.

The chorizo hash was a messy heap of meat, crushed spuds, peppers and onions with a poached egg on top, described by our waitress as ‘comfort food’ (although a more generous portion of paprika-spiked sausage would’ve helped us agree).

Huevos rancheros looked simple but satisfied by pairing eggs with punchy guacamole, stodgy refried beans and wedges of toasted tortilla.
