"Jashan has been a perennial local favourite for years, but in the past 12 months, the quality of cooking has noticeably dipped.
On our last two visits, my partner and I noted that the erstwhile delicate spicing and general deftness of cooking had been replaced by a heavier and altogether less than exceptional hand in the kitchen: we suspect a change of chef, though the longstanding menu remains the same, as do the friendly service levels and the same tired decor.
We'll give it another try for old times' sake, but if the cooking isn't somewhere back to its former delicious glory, we won't be back after that....fingers crossed it's soon back to its old self."

Established more than 18 years ago, Jashan Vegetarian restaurant has been the local favourite for lovers of good Indian Vegetarian food.
Every item on the menu is prepared from carefully sourced ingredients to ensure that it is 100% vegetarian (NO meat, NO eggs).
On demand, most items are also prepared without Onion and Garlic, and many items can be made as a pure Jain preparation.
Some of our most popular items are Special Dosas, Chilli Paneer, Vegetable Manchurian, Triple Szechwan, Pani Puri, Khasta Kachori Chat, Pav Bhaji, Navratna Kurma, Khoya Kaju, Subzi Kohlapuri, Roomali Roti.
We also cater for parties and special occasions.

The service is friendly and helpful and the complimentary pappadums and dips, accompanied by a pint of cool Kingfisher set the meal off to a great start.
Excellent food and friendly service!
The food and service was excellent so they score full marks whilst Quandoo receive a 1 as this could have ruined our evening along with our guests.
A great Indian restaurant, food freshly prepared, always delicious, best seafood I've had in an Indian Restaurant which makes a lovely change, tandoori fish, prawn curry's also good veg particularly smoked aubergine, yum, yum.
A wonderful local Indian - the food is always delicious, each dish distinctive.
