Other than Wahaca, which has been my default lunch venue in Canary Wharf, I have not really come across any South American cuisine in London that has blown me away.

Obviously, I'm no expert in it but Luiz at London Foodie has provided a rather comprehensive top South American restaurants in London, which I would definitely refer to in the new year.

Wife asked the waiter at Comedor as we sat down in the empty restaurant.

Comedor's grilled plates might be more palatable after a couple of cocktails but forget it if you are intend on keeping sober.

The Piscojito (Pisco Quebranta, sugar, lime and spearmint), obviously a twist on the Mojito, makes a surprisingly smooth drink that beats a traditional Mojito any day of the week.

Not strictly a ‘punch’ by definition, the 1850s Californian recipe: Pisco, pineapple juice, lime, cinnamon syrup brings up a different perception of the Californian gold rush, one with a strongly Caribbean sepia tone filter.

L-R: Chicha Sour as shot, Pisco Embassy Punch Now for the other drinks involved.

The Macchu Picchu Nights has far too much going on with shiso infused pisco, lemon, apple juice, red basil syrup and crème de cassis, but as far as sweet drinks go, works better than the Paddington Bear.

Last update:The name isn’t the only angelic thing about this area – Angel London, in North London , is one of the best places to live in the city, due to the location, brilliant restaurants and bars, and cultural atmosphere.

With an eclectic mix of city and artistic media types calling it home, Angel offers something for everyone.Upper Street (or ‘Supper Street’ as the Evening Standard have dubbed it) has a veritable smorgasbord of restaurants and bars with all types of cuisine, while the high-street shops of the N1 centre and vintage delights of Camden Passage will satisfy even the most fussy shopper. All this brilliance comes at a price though, so start saving your pennies if you’re thinking of moving here.Islington has existed in some form since the Saxon period, when it was known as Giseldone.

While you’ll certainly find a lovely place for your money, your budget needs to be pretty healthy.Cheapest rent for a two-bed flat:Most expensive rent for a two-bed flat:Not only can you walk to loads of places thanks to the central Zone 1 location, Angel is also served by a tube station on the Northern, a second tube station and Overground at Highbury and Islington (Victoria Line), and buses to all over London!Kings Cross and Old Street are both around a 20 minute walk, meaning the many bars and restaurants of Shoreditch are very easy to get to.

Full of high-quality vintage and antique shops (many of which have been known to supply the costumes for period dramas), this street is a lovely escape from modern London.Along with a selection of unique and quirky shops, Angel also has all the high-street favourites in the N1 centre, located just off Upper Street.

With up to 32 independent food stalls and some brilliant restaurants, you’re sure to find something delicious. While it may look unassuming, this intimate fringe theatre bar on the edge of Angel has showcased famous comedy acts including Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle and Jack Whitehall.

Taste the flavours of South America at Comedor Grill & Bar.

This Argentine restaurant serves up a range of classic and modern dishes, with delicious morsels like ceviche, Argentine sausages and empanadas to try.

On the weekends a special brunch menu is served with unlimited prosecco, bloody Mary or pisco sour.

Taking the best British beef from suppliers in Smithfield Market, the chefs marinade steaks in a special sauce and brush it with chimichurri before cooking for a vibrant flavour.

Pair the sumptuous meat with an Argentine red or one of over 70 delicious cocktails on the drinks menu.
