Royal Inn On The Park - Best restaurants in London

Royal Inn On The Park is situated at the edge of Victoria Park on Lauriston Road.

Lovely traditional setting inside and a decent sized beer garden with views of the park.

The food looked decent and there was a separate dining area outside.

Our daily changing seasonal menu keeps things fresh.

Whether you come for lunch and stay for dinner, fancy a spot of alfresco dining or perhaps just want to grab the king of all sandwiches, we’ve got you covered.

For private events and large group bookings we can offer a tailored buffet menu or set 2-3 course menus, each lovingly designed and prepared by our in-house kitchen team.

Yes, we do ensure we taste everything before putting it on the menu, in the name of research, of course.

Alternatively, pick from our wide range of spirits and other concoctions, including our very popular Bloody and Virgin Mary’s served alongside our weekend brunch menus.

Royal Inn on the Park in Hackney, London Pub Review and Details

Review analysis
food

The Royal Inn on the Park is a popular place, located by one of the main entrances to Victoria Park and in one of the nicest bits of Hackney - estate agents may call this area Hackney Village but they're not fooling anyone, it's still E9.

The pub serves a better than average range of beers on the hand pumps - Fuller's Pride, Gale's HSB, and regular guest ales, a range of continental beers on tap - Litovel, Rothaus Weissbier, Leffe, Palm, Aspall's, interesting bottled beers and a decent wine list.

There's a pretty comprehensive food menu too and a new, separate dining area although you can eat anywhere in the pub.

There's been a major refurbishment here which has massively expanded the capacity of the pub - it needed it, but we feel it's still not quite finished.

And we feel there's still work to be done on the layout of the main part of the pub - there's too much furniture, not enough room to circulate and the Victorian cosiness (welcome in winter) of the old place has been lost.
