Located in Canary Wharf, at the heart of London’s Docklands, The Henry Addington is a classic British pub serving only the finest cask ales and the most sumptuous pub food.

Boasting 9 hand-pulls, there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales pouring on the bar as well as the St Austell brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale – made with Cornish Maris Otter malts and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

A traditional British Pie House, the pub prides itself on serving sumptuous pies  with a dedicated menu bringing you the best seasonal recipes.

With cosy leather chairs inside, and benches spread out along the river outside, The Henry Addington is certainly a pub to welcome you all year round.

The best pubs in Canary Wharf: from The Henry Addington to The ...

As well as being home to one of the capital's busiest business districts, Canary Wharf is also home to some of the finest pubs you'll find in East London.

The Henry Addington review: Canary Wharf pub with an interesting ...

This traditional pub is right next door to Canary Wharf station.

Surrounded on all sides by swanky offices and right the heart of the city's financial industries, this is a good spot to escape for a while and try the pub’s wide selection of cask ale, wines and spirits.

It’s a pub with real history, too, named after the former British prime minister and doctor who treated George III while he was suffering a bout of madness.

The following information was correct at the time we went to press, but please be aware that in just 24 hours, joints on the Wharf can open, close, achieve greatness, become rubbish, swap charming, helpful staff for unintelligible, rude ones, change their CD collection of unobtrusive musak for heavy-duty, ear-bursting club anthems, run out of everything but lager and alcopops and double their prices.

A charming, if tiny, boozer, with a well-kept cellar, pleasant staff and a well-regarded fish restaurant.

If you must stay on the Wharf try the Cat and Canary (North Colonnade), Davys Wine Bar, The Henry Addington (Mackenzie Walk, 020 7513 0921), or the noisy and cramped Nicolas Wine Bar (Tower Concourse, 020 7512 9283).

If the weather's good, grab a drink and sit outside All Bar One (Mackenzie Walk, 020 7513 0911), The Slug and Lettuce (South Colonnade, 020 7519 1612) or Smollensky's (Nash Court, 020 7719 0101).

Full of Fleet Street leader writers, so don't ask strangers for an answer to health service underfunding, falling Church congregations, or the Schleswig Holstein question, as they'll probably tell you.
