The Humble Grape Battersea London | London Bar Reviews ...

Review analysis
food

Our table was next to a small smoking room accessed from restaurant.

Our host came over and we immediately made our order, olives, bread, cod and goats cheese salad and meatballs.

The food arrived, my meatball were warm so I returned them.

All the food from olives to bread to mains was delicious, as it was a treat we wanted a dessert but nothing took our fancy.

Four stars saved by the meatballs.

Islington’s latest wine bar and the third Humble Grape specialising in artisan wines, cheese and charcuterie.

What We Drank:  Each wine at Humble Grape tells its own story – so rather than go off tasting notes, you can choose from witty descriptions, how about a sparkling wine described as ‘an elegant lady who loves a cheeky double entendre and a penchant for ZZ Top?’

Described by Humble Grape as ‘a wine so pure it almost feels like it should be good for you’ and we’re pretty certain it was good for us.

Go With: Obviously you’re going to want to go with someone who appreciates wine and is up for trying lesser known varieties, but apart from that Humble Grape is for everyone – I could just as easily see myself here with a group of girlfriends as I could a date or my grandparents – it’s a bar for all occasions.

Final Word: Unless you really a wine connoisseur most of us muddle our way through choosing wines, sticking to what we know and acting like we know what we’re talking about, at Humble Grape there’s no pretentiousness, no snobbery, Like This?
