MCA have reported that Caring “plans to launch a new restaurant version of his Mayfair-based Harry’s Bar members club in Knightsbridge.”

When contacted this morning by Eater London, Caprice Holdings issued the following statement: “As of August 2017, Caprice Holdings has entered the licensing process for a space on 27-31 Basil St, Knightsbridge, London SW3 1BB, to open a new restaurant.”

The original Harry’s Bar — on South Audley Street in Mayfair — is, according to its website, “One of the most elegant and sophisticated private members' clubs in London.”

MCA report that Caring has set up a new company, Harry’s Bar Restaurants Ltd. to oversee the project, which they’ve suggested is a test case for a potential rollout of the “upmarket Italian restaurant brand.”

Caring acquired the Harry’s Bar brand when he purchased The Birley Group for £95m in 2007 — a private members group which also includes Annabel’s and Mark’s Club.

Harry's Dolce Vita | Italian Restaurant, London

food   drinks

Harry's Dolce Vita is an Italian restaurant in the heart of Knightsbridge, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with an extensive Italian wine list and classic cocktails.

Reminiscent of 1950s and 1960s Italian glamour, Harry's Dolce Vita is a mixture of legendary Italian charm, delicious unfussy food, inspired cocktails, stylish decor and some good old fashioned fun.

Within the restaurant colourful Murano glass, silky Fortuny fabrics, vintage brass fixtures and rich tanned leather banquettes give the room a refined yet vibrant look.

Seasonal Italian sourcing inspire the menus through aperitivi, pizze, paste, pesce e carne, contorni, and of course the dolci.

Dirty Harry's, bar review: Surprisingly, this Coyote Ugly-themed spot ...

This is Hodge, a veteran plus one of these bar reviews, custom built for the job: comically critical, willing to drink just about anything, not dead yet.

You could argue I should have seen this coming five hours earlier, in Dirty Harry’s, when he was skipping off for yet more shots to fuel what he calls dancing.

But I couldn’t stop the poor drink-sodden lamb: giggling like a schoolboy, telling jokes like a Dad, shuffling about like a geriatric, he was in the full throes of a man deliriously taken with a place.

Hodge works in an office that regularly imprisons him until gone 10pm; Dirty Harry’s told him to sit down, loosen the tie and blow off some steam.

On paper, it depends how you want to spin it: the publicity says it’s themed after Coyote Ugly, making it literally a dream come true for teenage boys from the noughties, but in real life, this doesn’t mean that much more than girls dancing on the bar and lots of classic rock (though not, alas, Pour Some Sugar On Me.

New Openings: Harry's Dolce Vita

Bellinis all round, as Harry’s Dolce Vita arrives in Knightsbridge Behind the scenes: The minute you walk into the glamorous, buzzy, chatter-filled room you know there can only be one man behind it.

Richard Caring, of course.

Caring has big plans for his Harry’s Bar Restaurant brand (he picked up the 1979 South Audley Street original and the rest of the Birley Group in 2007 for a cool £95m).

Knightsbridge is his smart first move.
