When NAC Mayfair Does Breakfast - Amelia Liana

You know by now I love exploring different restaurants and trying new dishes, however there are a few places on my list that I go to on a regular basis.

NAC Mayfair is probably the top of that list.

I’m completely obsessed with this restaurant and you’ve probably heard me rave and rave about it countless times (which is also probably why I’m always bumping into viewers and readers there!)

You could opt for the healthy option with countless fish and salad dishes or go for something more indulgent like mac & cheese.

They’ve recently added to their offerings by including a breakfast menu too.

NAC stands for North Audley Cantine, but the last word is a bit of a misnomer.

Although there’s the odd industrial touch not usually seen this side of Oxford Street (like whitewashed, exposed brick walls) there is nothing canteen-like about this Mayfair bistrot. The restaurant is the brainchild of three friends of French, Brazilian and North American heritage, so while the menu is largely Gallic, each of their native countries is referenced.

That’s why below the pissaladiere and cabillaud you’ll find macaroni and cheese, and churros with popping sugar among the desserts. The food consists entirely of small plates, priced between £9 for smoked salmon and £47 for caviar and mashed potato; if you’re hungry it’ll be all too easy to rack up a hefty bill.

Foie gras was tasty but needed a bit more time at room temperature.

The cabillaud is cod, which here they’ve turned into plump fish fingers and paired with a homemade herby tartare sauce; we prefer the Saint-Jacques, seared scallops that melt in the mouth, served with a butternut squash purée that’s just the right side of sweet. But desserts are the real showstoppers: moreish profiteroles with praline cream, and an exceptional pain perdu, French toast covered in chocolate and sprinkled with chopped orange. With friendly service and a soundtrack of French hip hop and British pop, NAC offers one of the neighbourhood's more laidback dining experiences.

Home to some of London’s most expensive houses, shops and people!

I could spend hours wandering around the streets looking at the beautiful houses and past the restaurants looking at their expensive menus.

I love pancakes but stack 3 of them up, cover them in dulche de leche and top with banana I would actually marry them.

I’d recommend you book in advance, we arrived as it opened and within half hour people were being turned away!

After breakfast we headed straight to Borough Market to think about what to have for lunch and I’ve got that lined up for you another day!

Having been on the cuisine scene for quite some time, NAC, also known as North Audley Canteen, has become an institute for London's lunch crowd, offering fantastically fresh and innovative food all afternoon (and night) long.

Founded by childhood friends David Bellaiche, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and Jeremy Coste, NAC is light, bright and breezy, offering chilled-out bistro French fare, perfect for sharing with friends, plus a selection of perfect patisseries and desserts.

NAC’s innovative approach to dining is reflected in the simply yet spectacular menu with its creative take on traditional dishes.

The fresh tuna from the poke bowl combined with the sharp dressing and fluffy quinoa provided a great combo, whilst the burger was perfectly cooked, dressed perfectly with cheese and truffle mayo.

The dessert menu was the icing on the cake, featuring a tarte du jour prepared by NAC’s very own pastry chef, as well as irresistible dishes like Churros with popping sugar, dulce ice cream and chocolate sauce and Profitéroles with salted caramel & ice cream.

ES Food Newsletter The French aren’t coming — they’re already here.

And little France continues its colonial expansion across Mayfair and Kensington with the arrival of North Audley Cantine (NAC for short).

Founded by childhood friends David Bellaiche, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and Jeremy Coste, NAC is a chilled-out bistro offering French sharing plates and — bien sûr — mouthwatering patisseries.
