Why not popina to Popina?

The new cafe and delicatessen from chef Isadora Popović will be arriving on Mayfair’s Duke Street next month and will be the first permanent home for what’s become a hugely popular weekly farmers market stalwart with stalls at over 20 locations from Broadway Markets to Portobello Road.

Freshly baked sweet pastries will also be on-hand as if all that wasn’t enough, including Popina’s acclaimed chocolate hazelnut cake.

Fans of the stall will be relieved that bestsellers like truffle squares (which won the Great Taste Award), pear and chocolate hazelnut tart, rhubarb and ginger cheesecake and Serbian specialty cheese burek, made using strong, barrel-aged feta.

It’s been quite a journey for Popina, from a market stall originally funded by the Prince’s Trust to stocking Fortnum & Mason, Whole Foods and Harrods and opening a deli in the centre of Mayfair.
