Poggi's Trattoria Piacentina

Poggi's Piacenza | Italian Restaurant

Poggi’s is a small trattoria where you can taste the flavours of food and wine from Piacenza in loco or purchase the products at the small market in the trattoria.

Authenticity and tradition are the two key concepts As in the old taverns of Piacenza, in the convivial atmosphere of  Poggi’s you can sit at a table with a traditional “scudlei” (bowl) of wine and some assorted “affettati” (cured meats) to savour with friends a typical snack from Piacenza.

Platters of salumi and cheeses are accompanied by focacce, batarò and fried dumplings, and typical Piacenza opening dishes The food is typical of the region of Piacenza.

The wine is served in the traditional “scudlei” of Piacenza.

Produce displayed on the counter inside the restaurant gives the customer the opportunity to take home some local produce such as pickles, fresh pasta and sauces, salumi and cheeses under vacuum packed and, of course, our bottles of Piacentino wine.

Book & Kitchen | Restaurants in Westbourne, London

The clue's in the name at this Ladbroke Grove spot: it's a bookshop and café, with literary and culinary worlds further combining thanks to its regular roster of supper clubs, book talks and literary events.

The kitchen serves full lunch on the weekends, but the rest of the week it's set up as a development kitchen.

Baked goods, breakfasts, fresh fruits and sandwiches feature throughout the week.

Keep an eye out for a range of other events, ranging from master classes and art exhibitions to live music, book launches, documentary screenings and lectures.

Lime Green Bow | Shopping in Westbourne, London

Review analysis
food

Lime Green Bow, an appointment-only luxury vintage shop in Notting Hill, feels like shopping in your older sister’s wardrobe – if you're lucky enough to claim an older sister boasting an eclectic collection of designer pieces from the likes of Alaïa, Pucci, Moschino, Zandra Rhodes, YSL, Chloe and Vivienne Westwood.

Clemmie Myers, the one-woman band behind the operation, travels from New York to Berlin to get her hands on these incredible vintage pieces – and then presents them in her studio for your perusing pleasure.

For vintage shoppers who fancy a touch of class and a personalized shopping experience, Lime Green Bow is a dream – and chimes perfectly with the ethos, and budget, of Notting Hill creative types.

Perched a few floors above The Candy Milliner hat shop, and across the road from Edwin’s, the laid-back All Saints Road reflects the casual luxury of the area – and is just out of the way enough from the crowds of Westbourne Grove and Portobello Road.

The by-appointment factor may imply a hit to the wallet, but price wise there’s a range to suit a few budgets, although if you’re looking for bargain items you’re better off heading down the road to the Portobello Market vintage stalls.
