Boys'n'Berry Cafe and Bar on Fulham Road, Parsons Green London

Boys’n’Berry is restaurant, cafe and bar just a five minute stroll from Parsons Green station and serves wholesome, health-conscious food with a simple philosophy – to care.

They opened their doors to the public back in December, though last week hosted an official launch party and invited me along to sip on mouthwatering house cocktails, gaze lustfully at the gorgeous interior, and take toilet selfies (oh I guess that probably wasn’t the intention, never mind…) The upstairs is small but incredibly trendy with a large exposed brick feature wall, copper hanging pendant lamps and an impressive bar of quirky looking spirits; I spy ‘quinoa vodka’ and am instantly intrigued.

The bar staff are incredibly friendly and it doesn’t take long before Pierre is reeling off the five adventurous cocktails they’ve designed especially to celebrate the launch.

We try four, bar the one containing tequila because it is a Thursday after all.

Pierre explains how each of the signature cocktails on their bar menu contains and celebrates a different superfood; that organic quinoa voddie I spied earlier is the key to a ‘Garden Breeze’, which also contains elderflower and pink Himalayan sea salt and in the ‘Yuzu Collins’ the edge is taken off of a Beefeater Gin with bee pollen syrup.

However, now things are finally starting to fall into place a little more and I’m getting myself organised, I’ve had a bit of extra time to really explore more of the beautiful city that I now get to call my home and try lots of the delicious food that it has to offer!

I’m really lucky that London has such an incredible selection of cafes and restaurants and there seems to be new places opening up everywhere I turn.

They offer a selection of amazing salads containing lots of fresh vegetables, pulses and grains and you’re then able to add additional protein sources like salmon, prawns or halloumi if you would like.

My personal favourite combination so far would have to be the butternut squash salad with extra king prawns and halloumi or feta cheese.

It’s a great place to enjoy a leisurely weekend brunch with friends, or somewhere to set up camp with your laptop and get some work done along with the help of an almond milk latte.

Boys ‘N’ Berry is one of those places that had hit my radar a while ago, and yet I couldn’t make it there for one reason or another – weird when brunch is one of my favourite things to do at weekends.

We made it there recently, and whilst I’m very simple with my breakfast, Mr B has a ritual, and breakfast is his favourite meal of the day.

The decor feels like one of those cool eateries you now find all over East London.

Juices by the bottle for the vitamin hit, and then for me it’s my coffee – taking me to my happy place.

The juice was delicious, but having two, and wanting to take one home, proved impossible – the lid had gone.

A café focused on wholesome food and coffee in Parsons Green.

Fulham’s nattering classes have a new HQ – groups of threes and fours in baseball caps, yoga tights, lip gloss and sunglasses squeeze around small tables, air kiss, wave and generally catch up on the latest goss at this bang-on-trend café.

Turning up for lunch well past one, I was handed the brunch menu as a matter of course – you know how it is in Parsons Green.

But first and foremost this is a coffee, cake and chat kind of place.
