location

With its magnificent power station Battersea has historically been the commercial heart of South London.

Today it is the centre of history in the making as it is transformed into a contemporary heartland of museums, homes and culture for the next century.

With the recent transformation of the area and its easy transport links to Waterloo and the City, eating out well is not at all a problem: The iconic Chelsea and Albert bridges allow easy access to Chelsea and the West End where a fleet a restaurants and cafés can be found: While the heavy industry disappeared long ago it left a lasting legacy of brewing, seen with Battersea’s array of pubs and bars, with many of the beers made right next door.

Lying right next to the river, the wider area is filled with luxurious greenery and parklands, perfect for a relaxing city bike ride: Battersea Park has an extensive series of fountains and gardens, developed during the 1951 Festival of Britain.
