The Lexington London - Eventim - Tickets, Directions & Venue Info

Welcome to The Lexington, Islington's finest new music venue and lounge bar, here to tie it all together for you with a mix of riotous rock 'n' roll upstairs and a ground floor lounge that we kind of hope might just entice you in and seduce you in a slowburning glow of downbeat decadence and bluesy class - with perhaps just a dash of burlesque elegance thrown in for good measure.

If you're searching for the heart of Saturday night, the Rough Trade pop quiz, or an intimate place to grab a decent bite to eat, kick back to a hand-picked soundtrack of rock 'n' roll, southern-fried soul and speakeasy Americana - without having to shout to hear yourself think, then you might just have found a new home.

The Lexington is one of Islington's finest new music venues and lounge bars.

On the upper floor there's a rock'n'roll feel with comfy chairs, bar stools and decadent red curtains.

Downstairs is the main lounge bar with a more chilled vibe, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat with your mates.

The Lexington is a great place to kick back to a hand-picked soundtrack of rock 'n' roll, southern-fried soul and speakeasy Americana - without having to shout to hear yourself think.

If you’ll pardon the pun, being Head Chef at The Lexington is a pretty tough gig.

When the incumbent chef left the Lexington, Nathan jumped in and revitalised the menu, building on the “pie tapas” pop-up he had been successfully running with friends.

Pies, much like pizza and burgers, are one of those crowd-pleaser foods, open to new and interesting twists, which is exactly what Nathan provides.

Beef Bourgignon was the winner – rich, decadent and utterly delicious.

We had the Kale & New Potato Colcannon Mash and the Olive Oil & Roast Garlic Mash on this occasion.

However, the downstairs bar is a destination in its own right, and a far nicer place to get a drink than most of the equivalents at similar London venues.

This is a venue that has invested in good equipment, with the result that its sound is among the best of any small London venue.

Where to stand: The venue is on two levels, with a raised back section by the bar.

Overall: The Lexington is one of the gems of London's small-venue circuit – it's no surprise that many good promoters run shows here, alongside the tiny bands putting themselves on.

Combine the good range of drinks, the quality of the sound, and the accessibility of the venue, and it's easy to see why it led the way in driving the capital's centre of pub gig gravity eastwards away from Camden, and why it gets shortlisted for awards as both a pub and a venue.
