Things come and go in Shoreditch so quick we barely have time to register most of them, but Sans Pere Lifestyle House is one YOU want to hear about.
Perched on the end of Great Eastern Street, this one-of-a-kind space incorporating a restaurant, in-house patisserie, coffee & tea bar, homeware shop, architectural studio and real estate agency, and is probably one of the most instagrammable cafes in Shoreditch.
, whether you wanna swing by for a coffee and croissant in the morning, plate yourself up and big salad a homemade quiche for lunch or knock out a few emails with a choux in the other hand in the afternoon, it’s got you covered and you can even pick up a few bits and bobs for your home while you’re there.
And if you wanna know HOW good their coffee is, their Head Barista Will Pitt’s won second place at the SCA UK Barista Championships!

Sans Pere’s flagship branch opened its doors in summer 2017.
Founded by Barney Goff, this one-of-a-kind space incorporates a restaurant, in-house patisserie kitchen, speciality coffee and tea bar and homewares store.
A one stop shop for all facets of the home, Sans Pere is the first-of-its-kind lifestyle house offering a home-cooked breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.
Goff’s West Country heritage is present throughout the menu with Cornish crab, dairy sourced from an organic Devonshire farm and Cornish based coffee roasters, Origin, providing Sans Pere’s very own custom house espresso.
The patisserie have been designed and created in-house by a team of expert pastry chefs, headed up by Jordan Duclaut.

Billed, without any sense of the hyperbole, as a lifestyle house, Sans Pere may well be the ultimate expression of the sharing economy.
Multitasking is the order of the day here, as London-based Atelier Baulier studio harnesses cool grey stone, polished concrete and clerestoried windows to skilfully divide the lofty open-plan space in London’s Shoreditch neighbourhood into a series of monochromatic room-sets modelled on a kitchen, sitting room and study.
Within these broad physical touchstones, Baulier has inserted a patisserie, homeware store, specialty coffee bar, architectural studio, and, of all things, an ethical property sales and lettings office.
The idea of Sans Pere is to provide a full turn-key service for the intrepid home-buyer: pick a house, brainstorm refurbishment plans, and pick up some European and Japanese homeware tchotchkes, all while sipping a cup of java brewed from origin coffee roasters in Cornwall and nibbling on patisserie chef and Alain Ducasse alum Jordan Duclaut’s pastries.

There is a pleasing symmetry to Barney Goff’s projects, most notably his latest – a bijou café cum bistro devoted to desserts in London’s Broadway Market.
The name, after all, is a gentle homage to his late father James Goff, the property developer whose name is synonymous with the gentrification of Shoreditch.
Indeed, Goff fils’s first project under the Sans Pere banner was a lifestyle house in Great Eastern Street that includes a patisserie, homeware store, specialty coffee bar, architectural studio, and, of all things, an ethical property sales and lettings office.
Whilst the latest Sans Pere is considerably less ambitious and set further afield, it still bears a sense of optimistic eclecticism that Goff père would have recognised.
Whilst there are several savoury plates like cheese and charcuterie platters, and avocado tartare, the marquee attractions are to be found in the desserts and cocktails sections of the menu.
