GOGI Korean Restaurant, London Review | One Tech Traveller

Review analysis
food   menu   ambience   drinks   value

The vegetable dumplings were okay, tasted good and some nice vegetable flavours but quite flat in taste.

For the mains we ordered: the vegetable platter, king prawns, the meat platter, seafood platter and Sangchu (lettuce leaves).

The vegetable platter included asparagus, peppers, courgette and sweet potatoes; the spicy meat platter included bulgogi beef, spicy pork and chicken.

Surprisingly, by the end of 2 portions of Ssangchu and eating the rest of the grilled pieces of meat, seafood and vegetables I was full.

The Korean BBQ was a nice experience, the quality of the meat and seafood were very good and the Makgeolli (막걸리) drinks reminded me of being in South Korea.

The Queen of Sheba - Halal Girl About Town

Review analysis
food   menu   staff

I’ve been scouring around TripAdvisor for a few weeks now looking at London’s food establishments to see if any halal restaurants had made the top 10.

Arriving at Queen of Sheba on a Saturday evening and feeling pretty carnivorous that day, after much deliberation on the menu, we opted for the meat platter.

This, in fact, is what makes or breaks your experience at the The Queen of Sheba; the “injera” has a somewhat vinegary taste to it that balances the strong flavours of the curries chosen – you either hate it or you love it.

Minchet Abish The beef was woody and had a smoky taste to it, but it may have had too much flavour due to all the different spices that were put into it; spices like ginger, garlic, and cardamom; so much that I couldn’t actually taste the meat, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

A few tips in case you plan to visit the restaurant- go for the meat/veg platter like we did so you get to taste a little bit of everything at a cheaper price and then decide if you like it or not.
