A new hand-rolled sushi takeaway shop will open on Great Windmill Street in Soho next month, report Hot Dinners and MCA Insight.

Inigo is a concept created by Australian entrepreneur Jeremy Bliss and Charlie Hall who works with Adam Hyman on the industry site, Code London.

Luke Pritchard, from Brighton band The Kooks, is also an investor who will create a soundtrack for the business.

Inigo's sushi rolls, instead of being cone-shaped per Japanese tradition, are cylindrical.

Summing it all up: If you're wondering why Inigo's hand rolls are different, picture something shaped more like a sushi burrito and you wouldn't be far off.

They'll also be using Japanese-style ingredients not oft seen in a traditional sushi, like wasabi peas, macadamia nuts and broccoli.

Grab a sushi roll from Inigo, an Aussie-led kiosk arriving in Soho that'll be serving their own sandwich-style take on the traditional Japanese food.

Rather than cone shapes, Inigo's sushi rolls are left tube-shaped (far easier to munch on as you stride through Soho) and instead of traditional fillings, have an array of Japanese-inspired ingredients, including crushed wasabi peas and ponzu tuna.

While you're there, keep an ear out for the playlist - Luke Pritchard of The Kooks is a mate of Jeremy's, and also an investor in the business – he will curate the soundtrack at Inigo.

These hand rolls are a bit different to the cone-shaped rolls you’ll be used to: rolled up into a tube shape, they’re much easier to munch on the run.

We wouldn’t usually get too excited about a new grab’n’go sushi place, but this looks good and they’re sourcing their fish sustainably from H. Forman & Son (yes, of smoked salmon fame), so it looks like it could be a fun new lunch option.

There are six main hand rolls on the menu, including a classic spicy tuna (the queen of hand rolls) with ponzu-marinated tuna, baby gem lettuce, spicy mayo and crushed wasabi peas — the last a rather genius addition, we think.

There are soft but also alcoholic drinks, which is a bonus for a little takeaway place.

Let’s face it, not every day is a sit down with a napkin and actual cutlery kind of lunch, so this is a welcome addition to Soho’s quick lunch repertoire.

A stylish little Soho spot specialising in giant hand rolls, its website promised organic and sustainably sourced fish, environmentally friendly packaging and staff paid the London Living Wage.

And true, the friendly staff seem happy.

The six different rolls I tried were all fairly inedible, but the worst offender was the spicy tuna version.

Inigo has a tendency to whack unexpected ingredients in its hand rolls: think macadamia nuts or English mustard.

Being experimental for the sake of it is never a good look.
