From “a twist on a classic” to “something a little different,” The Potato Project’s menu ranges from just what you’d expect to see placed atop a potato to more inventive and even intriguing combinations.

For my lunch, I went with something from the “different” menu: the autumn wild mushrooms, spinach, blue cheese and truffle oil (£6.20).

Sides were of equal consideration.

I enjoyed every bite of my sweet potato hummus with pear (£2).

The Potato Project is located at 27 Noel Street, W1F 8GZ, with a second outlet opening at BoxPark Croydon soon.

Everything’s getting a makeover these days, even the humble baked potato.

Forget about your tinned beans and pre-grated cheese, The Potato Project is elevating the art of baked spuds to a new level.

With toppings including pulled BBQ duck; Thai chicken; moussaka; autumn wild mushrooms and spinach with blue cheese and truffle oil, these guys are revamping this humble dish into something new.

With all items on the menu under £8, we went for the sweet potato topped with the vegan Mexican inspired bean and salsa.

You can build your own potato from £4.20 (just with butter) plus toppings, and if you keep this under £5.40, you can add one of their sides for £2.60 and stay under our magic £8 mark.

In my latest review I visit the people bringing the humble Jacket Potato into the 21st century!

Founded by Ksenia Karpenko in October 2015, the Potato Project serves, you guessed it, potatoes, but not as you know them.

They serve up proper, crunchy skinned, baked potatoes and sweet potatoes loaded with exciting and unique toppings.

The Potato Project is my new favourite place.

The Potato Project is destined for great things!

The Potato Project brings baked potatoes with a twist to Soho ...

Currently in Soho you can find a restaurant devoted to polenta and one serving only cheese toasties - now there's a new single ingredient carb spot to add to the mix - The Potato Project.

This new restaurant, opened by Ksenia Karpenko who used to be Head Sommelier at Four to Eight in Covent Garden, says it's bringing a twist to the classic baked potato.

Expect to pay between £4 to £5.25 for a filled potato.

Hell, there's even a sweet potato cheesecake with granola if you want to continue the tattie theme through to desserts.

The Potato Project is now open at 27 Noel Street, W1F 8GZ.

The jacket potato.

Even those who cannot boil an egg can put a potato in an oven until its skin goes crisp and its middle steams itself into what comfort would taste like if it weren't an abstract noun.

But The Potato Project promises to take spuds up a notch, offering middle-class toppings such as roasted artichoke, smoked ham hock and salted ricotta (not all at once).

Our tatties were filled to order but pre-cooked, which did rather compromise their crisp outside but of course meant the wait was a few minutes, rather than a few hours.

But the spuds are cheap as, well, chips.

The Potato Project proves there is more to a jacket potato than just something you have with beans.

Choose from a mouth-watering selection of potatoes with a gourmet twist such as the inventive prawns with bourbon maire rose sauce; the appetising chilli beef ragu with blue cheese, or the tempting raclette cheese and roast artichoke.

You can also tuck into a delectable selection of breakfast dishes, sides and sweet desserts.
