Three Greyhounds in Soho, London Pub Review and Details

Review analysis
food

There's a good range of well-kept beers on the hand pumps and an extensive food menu which is heavily promoted.

We'd like to give it a higher rating, but the size of the pub works against it - you only need little more than a handful of people to make the place feel pretty crowded and given where this pub is, it's easily achieved.

Nevertheless, it's a Nicholson's and with the excellent beers on offer, this place is a pretty good pub.

Dec, 2012 by Robert Gale in Pubs The Three Greyhounds is a Nicholsons pub located in Soho, London.

Like other pubs owned by the chain, you can expect a good selection of ales including their own Pale Ale produced by St Austell Brewery.

The pub is located in the south-western corner of Soho near Charing Cross Road and Cambridge Circus, just a stones throw from a variety of other pubs including others from the Nicholsons chain.

Robert Gale likes beer, pubs and beer festivals.

Most weekends of the year you can find him travelling around the UK (and sometimes beyond) photographing and reviewing good quality pubs and beer festivals.

Popular M&B Nicholson's pub, just off Shaftesbury Avenue and full of tourists and wanderers through Soho, first licensed as a beer house in 1846, with weatherboarding added in 1925.

The pub was refurbished in February 2012, and given a coat of paint, a new bar and handpumps.

Recent guest beers have included Cropton Elf Indulgence and Box Steam Tunnel Vision.

It makes a comfortable break from the Soho streets, but can frequently become rather crowded.

The pub has a mock tudor exterior that helps make it stand out.

They serve traditional pub food and real ale.

“As noted by other reviewers here, this beautiful old drinking spot is a pub; not a restaurant, cafe, or tea house.

While waiting for our friend to finish his drink (about 5 mins after the rest of the group) the proprietor and another staff member screamed at us relentlessly, threw us out of the pub and launched at my friend as if he were going to punch him...all for apparently not drinking enough.
