Wagamama Great Marlborough Street - Japanese Restaurant in ...

In Japanese, our name means ‘naughty child', or ‘one who is wilful and determined'.

Inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of Asian food, we set out to create a unique way of eating, bringing the fresh, nourishing, flavours of Asia to all.

The two mains was the chicken katsu curry (£10.50) and the (new) sticky pork belly (£11.95).

Not sure I loved it, it was a hard dish to share and there was too much aubergine and not enough pork.

This chicken katsu curry was a better one than the one I had at their other Soho store.

The two pictures side to side showed that other one was lacking in curry sauce.

The food’s always a little pricey, and the main dishes (not that Wagamama dare calls them that) took longer than expected this time.

Wagamama, situated at 42-43 Great Marlborough St, Carnaby, London, is just around the corner from the famous Carnaby Street and Oxford Circus Tubes station and offers a fine selection of Asian inspired and Japanese flavours.

The restaurant is reminiscent of traditional Japanese ramen bars, and furnished with their signature communal tables, set in a chic and modern environment.

For those who are not too well versed in the art of Asian flavours, the polite and professional staff are more than willing to explain any item in detail and offer great suggestions.

The addition of a thoughtful and tasty kids menu make this place perfect for all age groups, which is really great for family outings where everyone can find something they love.

This restaurant has also recently introduced take-away options, for all those who really crave the great taste, but aren’t too keen on leaving their favourite boxset or movie with friends.

Chain Wagamama has launched a new Japanese-inspired breakfast menu to trial in its new flagship restaurant in Oxford Street, Soho from this week.

The menu contains nine dishes, including breakfast ramen, kedgeree, omelettes, buns and of course, lots of fresh juice and flavoured teas.

On the inspiration for the new breakfast menu, Laura, a spokeswoman for Wagamama, said: "Lots of people get stuck in the same old breakfast routine, and we thought 'Why aren't we doing breakfast?

Executive head chef Steve Mangleshot, who designed the menu, said: "It gives the customers the chance to talk to servers, and understand the food a little better.

Our own what's on writer Emily Chudy went along to try out the new breakfast menu after its launch on Monday (May 11).
