Cafés near campus (and bring your laptop!) | Pi

Review analysis
value   drinks   food

All the essentials are ticked off – good coffee, plenty of seating and reliable wifi.

During the week it’s an excellent spot to work in, and a fair few hours (and coffees) can easily slip by here.

It’s a great social space, too, perfect for group sessions or a casual catch up.

Think of this more as a relaxing spot to escape the stresses of Senate House library and enjoy a good quality, ultra-hipster coffee, and maybe even a hunk of carrot cake, the likes of which you won’t find on campus.

– EH If you’re feeling in particular need of treating yourself, bypass the Greggs and the Tesco meal deal on Tottenham Court Road and step into Tap Coffee No. 114 for a wholesome, homemade lunch and quality coffee that will turn you off Print Room for the foreseeable future.

Cafe Review: Prufrock Coffee in London | The Coffee Compass

Review analysis
drinks   food   staff

In The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, T.S. Eliot famously wrote, “I have measured out my life in coffee spoons.”

I certainly don’t claim to be a literary critic, but a life measured out in spoons from London’s Prufrock Coffee wouldn’t be too bad.

Though they hail from different places, all the baristas at Prufrock Coffee share an über scientific approach to brewing.

Prufrock’s minimalist menu is a serious step towards removing the barriers that keep more people from enjoying specialty coffee.

If the Coffee Compass was based in London and not Louisville, I expect Prufrock would be our regular coffee shop.
