Brewdog Shoreditch

BrewDog Shoreditch

BrewDog Manchester is now officially open. Boasting a huge glass frontage, external seating area, partial mezzanine, and exposed beams the bar at 35 Peter St takes our utilitarianism to a whole new level.

BrewDog Shoreditch | Craft Beer Bar

A fitting metaphor for the unrelenting surge of creativity that fuels this part of East London is our bar on Bethnal Green Road.

BrewDog Shoreditch is part livewire extrovert, part custodian of antiquity, clad in graceful antique tiles.

Shoreditch is more than simple hipsterbait – it is an area of constant re-invention.

Our BrewDog bar encapsulates that, serving a continually-changing selection of cutting-edge craft beer and amazing food.

It is the very spirit of East London.

Brewdog Shoreditch is looking a bit different these days.

As with all BrewDog sites, you'll find a standard range of own-brand ales supplemented with a large and ever-changing selection of guests.

BrewDog, in its own words, makes 'beer with balls and teeth', including the liver-watering Mr President at 9.2%.

Beer creativity of a different kind can be found down the stairs in the Underdog bar, which specialises in beer cocktails.

On Twitter as @BrewdogShord Other BrewDogs can be found in Clerkenwell, Shepherds Bush, Clapham Junction and Camden Town.

BrewDog Shoreditch is the newest offering from Scottish brewery and bar chain BrewDog; with one already highly successful London pub in Camden, the BrewDog boys have moved into Shoreditch taking over from Mason & Taylor on Bethnal Green Road.

With craft beer the main attraction, BrewDog offer their own specially brewed beers as well as other great international craft beers.

Perfect for after-work drinks and equally great as a meeting place for friends, BrewDog Shoreditch could be one of the best London pubs to open in 2012.

So if you have enjoyed a visit to BrewDog Camden, then expect the Shoreditch pub to be equally as good and equally as entertaining.

Friendly brewpub with a wide selection of independent beers.

A fun atmosphere and great beer.

The atmosphere is a bit commercial but a good place for a pint or two.

The premises vacated by Mason & Taylor are now home to the second branch of the Aberdeenshire brewery of the same name, after the original in Camden.

You can buy Brewdog beers in Tesco and Asda now, and it has bars in almost every major British city, but it still somehow maintains independence and an air of rebelliousness.

As with Camden, it’s often rammed with hopheads male and female – it's all about the craft beers here.

Brewdog Camden sells good pizzas and burgers; here it’s 'Japanese street food'.

A bar in the basement of Brewdog Shoreditch featuring a collection of retro arcade games.

But this attempt to relaunch Brewdog Shoreditch’s basement as an American craft-beer bar doesn’t just involve US brews from the likes of Dale’s Pale Ales.

With the cheapest bottle coming in at £7 (and the menu mostly hovering around the £11 mark), as well as none available in pints – which, ironically, you wouldn’t find in an actual US craft beer bar – most drinkers seemed to be buying the cheaper beers from upstairs and then bringing them downstairs.

Given the brilliance of the USA’s craft beer scene, a decent bar dedicated to it is a great idea.

Not focused enough on what it should be about: delivering the charm and vibrancy of the US craft beer scene in an affordable manner.
