The Dispensary, London | Pub and Dining room | CAMRA East London and City Pub of the year 2104

The Dispensary won the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) 'Pub of the Year – East London and City’ award in both 2014 and 2009.

This immensely stylish dining pub – with its ‘country house in the city’ feel – is owned and run by classically trained chef David Cambridge and partner Annie Smith, aka the 'most welcoming' Front of House Manager.

It is very important to our team that we can support the local economy, as well as providing our customers with fresh food.

Outstanding pub food and à la carte fine dining menus are available – or you can simply savour the wide selection of real ale, fine wines and spirits.

Eat in The Dispensary’s welcoming bar or book a table in one of the three private dining areas within our historic grade two listed building, now exquisitely restored and redecorated in the English Heritage style.

The Dispensary, City of London

Round the corner from Aldgate and the Whitechapel High Street, The Dispensary Pub and Dining Room is the freshest place in London to enjoy top quality food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The building was constructed in 1858 to house the Eastern Dispensary.

The dispensary closed in 1940 owing to wartime difficulties and was converted into a public house in 1998.

Given the building's history, it was important to retain the historic qualities of the building.

Throughout the building you can view framed pictures referencing the history of London.
