Lu Lu Shanghai Delicacy & Sake Bar or “Saki” as the sign outside says opened last year on Stoke Newington Church Street, a place that sees many a restaurant come and ago.
However, after reading that the restaurant chefs were from Shanghai, the Chinese restaurant in Dalston that closed last year we decided to move it up the list.
Chinese is the name of the game and there’s a decent dim sum section, even though 75% of them are pork.
We ate Xiao long bao soup dumplings, pork and vegetable dumplings in a garlic spicy sauce and fried vegetable dumplings.
Service could be improved a bit, but all in all Lu Lu is a good place to get your Chinese fix in Stokey.

The food menu offers a culinary jaunt across the south Indian state of Kerala.
Expect, then, dishes ranging from rasam soups and onion pakodas to chicken malabar, nadan fish curry, squid with roasted coconut and prawn allepey - a spicy king prawn curry prepared with onion, smoked tamarind, tomato, chili, ginger and spices.
South Indian biryani dishes also feature prominently.
