Kennedy's Fish & Chips Streatham Hill (MENU & REVIEWS)

I have a big appetite and I struggle to finish a small chips and medium cod from Kennedy’s.

Download Kennedy’s Fish & Chips menu.

There are usually queues in the evening as people flood from Streatham Hill station across the road to Kennedy’s.

When I went to Kennedy's I got a medium portion of chips (£1.60) and medium battered cod (£6.00).

But here's why Kennedy's is worth it: Kennedy's easily does the best fish and chips in Streatham.

But like pearls in oysters, a good chippy does appear once in a while — one where the fish is always fresh, the batter crunchy and the chips fluffy.

Here’s our pick of those pearls, all of which offer decent dining-in options as well as takeaway... The Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack in Fitzrovia has fish and chips on the menu — beer battered North Sea haddock and beef dripping chunky chips, to be exact.

Its fish is among the flakiest, well-seasoned and highly-flavoured we’ve tried, its batter is reliably crisp and chewy, and the chips are soft and fluffy.

Fat crisp chips (possibly the best on this list), pleasantly chewy batter and proper mushy peas all go in its favour, while the freshness of the fish being served is unquestionable.

There’s nothing particularly fancy about it, just the highly sought-after holy trinity of crunchy and grease-free batter, fresh and juicy fish, and crisp and fluffy chips.

Kennedy’s serve up fish and chips in two locations in east central London.

It’s a cross between a traditional fish bar and modern cuisine, with a sleek interior of white tiled walls and landscape photos that bring the sea to East London.

Part restaurant and part takeaway, Fish Central Restaurant produces the freshest fish in London, sourcing sustainable fish and shellfish.

North Sea Fish Restaurant is a quaint, Bloomsbury, fish and chips restaurant packed with charm.

With the abundance of chain restaurants in London, this fish and chip shop is well worth a visit.

The residence straddles both quirky, edgy areas like Shoreditch, Hoxton, Whitechapel and Islington, and yet is also only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the City of London and the corporate world.

The Barbican Centre is a performing arts centre and hosts classical and contemporary music concerts, theatre performances and art exhibitions and is only 25 minutes’ walk from your new home.

You’ve also got absolutely iconic places like London Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Gherkin, The Shard and The Tower of London within 30 minutes’ walk in each direction.

Further afield via tube you will find everything else that London has to offer such as the shops of Oxford Street, the delights of Camden Market or Soho and of course, the touristy places like The London Eye and Westminster, where there is an array of sights to be seen.

London has literally hundreds of these and we can cater to them all, but as an idea, University College London is 15 minutes away by public transport, University of the Arts and Kings College London just 10 minutes away, and Queen Mary University at 15 minutes away on the tube.
