But if you want to go to a real French bistro, and not have to jump on the Eurostar to get there, it’s time to head  North to Patron Cave à Manger.

At Patron, we’re talking a cosy, Parisian style place with a short main menu of just five French classics, and a wine list fit for any white, red or rosé lover.

Perhaps all you fancy is a glass of wine and a small plate of something.

Whether you go out for a big blowout occasion, or a small plate and glass of wine, you will have experienced rich, delicious, proper French food at Patron without stepping foot out of London.

Well, lucky for you the people behind Patron have opened up a cheese and wine bar just two doors down.

Patron will open on Fortess Road, just round the corner from the hot new bar in town, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Hot Dinners caught up with one of Patron's owners, Tanzi Ellison to find out what Kentish Towners can expect from the new place.

"Kentish Town has plenty of pubs but it's missing a good wine bar and French restaurant," says Tanzi, explaining the couple's move here.

"Somewhere you can just go to relax with a drink at the bar or enjoy some bar snacks and small plates from the kitchen or a full meal."

As for drinks, Tanzi's promising "a fantastic selection of French wines and a small selection of fine wines."
