Bottomless Brunch at Canova Hall, Brixton - Immy May

Last Sunday Matt and I ventured to Brixton to check out this snazzy new brunch spot, Canova Hall.

It is possibly the most beautiful spot I have ever visited for brunch / tea / cocktails.

P.S Martello Hall is Canova’s sister in London Fields and also provides a corker of a brunch if you happen to be east.

I cannot wait to visit Canova Hall again, we have already started planning birthdays, big ole brunches and nights out (they sell pizza till close, genius).

Of course all love for brunch, tea and cocktails are all my own.

MUD - Tooting

MUD celebrates the best of Antipodean (Aussie and Kiwi-style) café culture.

They're a local favourite in Tooting, serving up dishes like the superb mud muffin – packed full of juicy sausage, streaky bacon, cheddar, and a fried Cotswald Legbar egg.

And we found a brilliant new restaurant called Badger & Co.

You might be wondering about the name, and the reason for the badger artwork adorning the walls.

Well, it has a very cool reason indeed.

The restaurant is located on Castle Street in the former home of Kenneth Grahame, the author of Wind in the Willows!

The literary geek in me was having a whale of a time – Tim has experienced this on many occasions to his peril, such as the time I made him trek around Brooklyn for hours trying to find the former home of …

A laid-back Antipodean-style cafe in Tooting Broadway serving Ozone coffee, snacks such as cakes and toasties, plus elaborate brunches.

Breakfast or bunch is served until 3pm (snacks thereafter), and dishes from the short menu tend to be variations on a few ingredients  such as avocado, bacon, pancakes, and good sourdough bread from the Blackbird Bakery.

Smashed avocado was served on toast with feta crumbled on top, sweetcorn fritters with smashed avocado and a perfectly poached egg.

The coffee’s decent, made with an Ozone roast, and there’s an Aussie accent to cakes such as a giant Anzac biscuit.

Table service, cash only, pay at the counter.
