Radha Krishna Bhavan - Delivering delicious takeaway in Tooting

I called the restaurant twice and twice the manager assured me that the food was on it’s way.

When it finally did arrive, the driver lied and said there were road works, even though there weren’t any, and said that he informed Hungry House, which he did not.

By this time the food was cold and after the driver left with our money we realised that not only did they get the order wrong but part of it was missing.

After talking to Hungry House (who were extremely nice) about this, the manager of Radha Krishna Bhavan claimed that the late order was because “they were rushed today and had a backlog they tried to catch up with” even though he told me on the phone that this was the only order the delivery man had to make, and he could not give me a reason as to why he was so late, although he did politely apologise several times.

So to summaries, my food was cold, late, partly missing, partially incorrect and the manager gave no believable reason as to why.

Curry enthusiast Jo Grobel liked the cut of their jib Having lived in Tooting, the curry capital of London, for the last five years, I have made it my business to visit every single Indian restaurant on the high street, purely to improve my local knowledge, you understand.

The restaurants owner, Mukit Choudhury, who also owns two other Indian restaurants Bengal Trader in East Londons Spitalfields, and a second Bengal Clipper in Weybridge, Surrey tells us that being located so close to London Bridge mainline station and therefore easily accessible from outside London, the restaurant is often visited by customers from the home counties.

It is certainly not, dare I even mention it, one of those Indian restaurants that mixes sauce A with B to get sauce C, and sauce B and C to create the D version.

Dal Makhani is another addition and consists of black lentils cooked over a slow fire with various Indian spices and fresh cream and, according to Choudhury, is a real Bengalese speciality.

The three-course 15 Celebration menu is available for a limited period of time and offers a good selection of starters, mains and desserts, together with a glass of wine or soft drink of your choice.
