The Seven Stars - Pub Brighton - The Seven Stars

Review analysis
drinks

The Seven Stars is a gin and craft beer pub situated right in the heart of Brighton’s city centre, only a couple of minutes stroll from Brighton station, Churchill Square and, of course, the beach.

Our back bar boasts a great range of spirits, with 10 speciality gins as well as our own, in-house infusions using Sipsmiths hand-crafted gin.

We also serve up a small, but perfectly formed, selection of cocktails, and last but by no means least, we have CroustillantD, traditional pub grub with a French twist in the kitchen.

Old furniture, pictures, blackboards and books, flagstones and fires lend themselves to a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, whilst the lovely garden makes the Seven Stars the perfect backdrop for lazy spring days and cosy autumnal nights.

The Seven Stars is proud to be part of the Hall & Woodhouse family.

Welcome to The Seven Stars in Dinton We would like to share our good news with you all...  We had a very exciting evening on 15th October when the Seven Stars hosted the Aylesbury Vale Village Pub Competition which is supported by Dayla and Aylesbury Vale District Council.

The Seven Stars gained an award for Overall Winner 2013/14 and an award for Best Food Pub Category 2013/14 Commended.

These two awards reflect the hard work we have put in to achieve our vision of providing good beer and quality English pub dining with a French twist.

Dinton has rallied around to save The Seven Stars by purchasing the freehold and the local people have entrusted us with the running of this fine pub.

The Seven Stars has a snug, a main bar and a dining area, somewhere and something for everyone!!

In November 2012 the doors closed once again on the Seven Stars, for the fourth time in 10 years and set the ball rolling onto how the pub looks today.

A committee was formed, shares bought, locals engaged and thus the doors of the pub re-opened once again on March 30th 2013.

In early 2015 are new pub toilets were built to help continue to breathe new life into this beautiful village pub, set right next to the largest village green in Europe and with a large garden we have the perfect space for all to enjoy.

We welcome all to come and try our British pub inspired Food Menu and our head chef adds a few excellent specials, taking inspiration from seasonal produce and typical British pub dishes.p> Try our well kept Beers, including a large range of local ales and our inspired wine and spirit selection.

Dogs are welcome too and don’t worry if you have wellies or walking boots on, we are a country pub after all!

A little down the street, on the edge of London's Chancery Lane, was a monster JD Wetherspoon palace of varieties: heaving, chocka, full to the gunnels.

There are, perhaps, eight items on it in all - roast chicken with aïoli, rib-eye steak sandwich, plate of charcuterie, cured herrings in dill with potato salad, penne with something or other, Welsh rarebit, Cheddar cheese and oatcakes.

It might have been the herrings that made me think that way, or the chicken: both bistro classics, nothing fancy, just decent, straightforward, nice, lunchly food.

I learned a lot about the degrees conferred by American religious universities, and about the workings of the legal mafia and about the internal politics of a particular set of chambers that will remain nameless.

The overwhelming legal nature of the clientele, all pinstripe and white collar, brief and client was echoed through the film posters of long-forgotten masterpieces of the British cinema, such as Brothers In Law with Richard Attenborough, Terry-Thomas and Ian Carmichael, Trial And Error with Peter Sellers and Richard Attenborough again and A Pair Of Briefs with James Robertson Justice, Brenda de Banzie and Michael Craig.
