The sumptuously decorated Indian restaurant offers all of the classics British curry fans love like lamb jalfrezi, chicken korma they even offer a luxurious lobster massala on their menu.

A family-run restaurant with years of experience passed down through several generations, Ma Goa has a fine selection of Indian dishes (we particularly liked the chutnies, which are homemade).

Shilpa's menu has plenty of what you've come to expect from an Indian restaurant, but the real draw to this Hammersmith eatery has to be its comprehensive seafood selection.

The mix of southern Indian herbs and spices, fresh fish and a large selection of prawn and crab dishes make this a must for anyone looking for something a little different than your average Friday night curry.

It's a vegetarian restaurant, but don't let that put any meat-eaters off: the authentic Dosas (crepes made from lentils and rice, filled with delicious combinations of vegetables and sauces) are a real highlight, with the greatly expanded menu now catering for northern Indian classics too.

location

Walk down Gascony Avenue until you come to a cross-roads with Kingsgate Road.

We are at number 70 Kingsgate Road, which is to the left of an Indian restaurant called "Bombay Flame".

Our office is no more than 9 minutes walk from West Hampstead tube station.

Do a right turn into Quex Road at the traffic lights when you see Kilburn's McDonalds on your left, and then immediately first left into Kingsgate Road.

We are opposite this shop, and our office has a lime green front door, with a large number "70" on it.

The competition between curry houses can be fierce, and the title of the best Indian restaurant in North London is constantly disputed.

Their chef brings the best of Indian traditions to their restaurant in West Hampstead, and their menu reflects this: they serve everything from tandoori classics to all your favourite curries, as well as plenty of chef’s specials that reward those who make repeat visits.
