Acquired by Ross Grady, Angus Stevenson, and Crusoe Millar, who bought the lease in January 2017.

Mr Grady, who with his friends runs the Colonel Fawcett in Camden Town and the Smugglers Arms in Warren Street, said: “It’s the first pub that feels like a traditional pub that we hope to restore to its original beauty.

We will up the anti with drink offers and live traditional Irish music every Saturday night.”

He added: “The essence of the pub was in good shape, with wood cladding we wanted to keep.

Pub looks in good shape, two nice rooms with lots of wood panelling.

Being of Irish descent ourselves, we are immediately interested when we hear of a new Irish restaurant opening in London, let alone one from an ex St John Bread and Wine chef.

Opening above the just-revamped Sir Colin Campbell pub in Kilburn, we're told to expect "humble country cooking, elevated."

We also love this comment about the upstairs space by Summers: "Discovering the dining room above the Sir Colin Campbell was like opening Tutankhamun’s chamber.
